Two Dentists – One Design Vision

Confident interior design and no compromise on quality – at Die Praxis Mitte, two Berlin dentists turn their passion into their profession.

Good design builds a bridge to people. This has also been the experience of dentists Dr. Christina Erdmann and Dr. Anna Trojan. For their practice in Berlin, they have achieved a design concept that meets the taste of patients with a personal and self-confident touch.

Artistic Spirit: Cool Design, Cool Technology

The two dentists worked as colleagues in a Berlin dental clinic for several years until they decided to go into business for themselves. In 2019, they took over the premises of another dental practice in Berlin-Mitte, which was expanded last year and now offers 440 square meters of space for eight treatment and prophylaxis rooms and the laboratory. Sixteen employees support the two dentists.

“We wanted to implement a very special practice concept – more youthful, more modern – starting with the reception area, which Allen Kaufmann Studio designed for us,” says Dr. Erdmann. The artistic approach to the design is reflected in the playful look of the reception desk, which forms the centerpiece of the space. The look is reminiscent of teeth in various shades of white, with colorful tiles scattered in between. These colorful accents are echoed in the furnishings, the fabrics of the seating and the design of the sanitary areas.

Design & Technology: Coordinated Down to the Last Detail

“It was important for us to bridge the gap between what we like and also the broad patient base. And the patients are thrilled; everyone experiences certain elements as particularly beautiful for themselves.” Feminine accents meet clean, muted colors, which are also reflected in the professional equipment. “As practice owners, we decide which equipment, instruments and materials to purchase,” says Dr. Erdmann.

“High-quality technology provides security and makes a big difference in the treatment outcome. We therefore decided for solutions that are coordinated with each other – starting with the Intego, Sinius and Teneo treatment centers, through the Orthophos SL and Primescan intraoral scanner, to the CEREC milling unit. As a nice extra we were also able to choose the upholstery colors for the treatment units so that the technology fits harmoniously into the overall concept. It's simply a beautiful sight when you walk into the room – cool technology, cool design,” says Dr. Trojan.

Digital? Yes, with Pleasure

As unique as the practice is, its services are also oriented to offer a unique selling point: Both dentists are specialists in surgery and soft tissue management – something not every dentist can offer. This allows the team to offer individual implant management for long-term care across all implant-systems.

Digital dentistry is another focus that the entire team stands behind. Anna Trojan explains, “All the staff are CEREC-trained. They thought it was great that we can do everything ourselves from scanning with the intraoral scanner Primescan to grinding and firing to staining. Patients get the complete treatment process from a single source and at the level we want.”
