Level 5 Outline

Utilizing procedure-based education*, this level transitions to the fully edentulous patient and will provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide full-arch removable implant restorations.

Throughout this level, the courses cover topics including:

  • Patient-centric approaches to full-arch implant therapy
  • Diagnosis and treatment planning for removable implant overdentures
  • Overdenture treatment approaches for the mandible and maxilla
  • Optimization of esthetics, retention, support, and comfort
  • Step-by-step restorative procedures

At the completion of this level, participants will have a good understanding of treating an edentulous arch with a removable implant overdenture. Participants are encouraged to continue their education in Level 6, which will focus on full-arch fixed implant restorations.

*The implant curriculum is an interactive, procedure-based series of courses that uses individual cases to teach current implant treatment. This approach is in contrast to conventional dental education that focuses more on didactic topics and theory. The purpose of using this educational approach is to highlight the patients and procedures found in everyday clinical practice, where the most important concepts are observed and discussed in multiple clinical scenarios.
