Utilizing procedure-based education*, this level transitions to the fully edentulous patient and will provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide full-arch removable implant restorations.
Throughout this level, the courses cover topics including:
At the completion of this level, participants will have a good understanding of treating an edentulous arch with a removable implant overdenture. Participants are encouraged to continue their education in Level 6, which will focus on full-arch fixed implant restorations.
*The implant curriculum is an interactive, procedure-based series of courses that uses individual cases to teach current implant treatment. This approach is in contrast to conventional dental education that focuses more on didactic topics and theory. The purpose of using this educational approach is to highlight the patients and procedures found in everyday clinical practice, where the most important concepts are observed and discussed in multiple clinical scenarios.

Dr. Lyndon Cooper D.D.S., Ph.D. is the Associate Dean for Research and Head of the Department of Oral Biology at University of Illinois School of Dentistry, Chicago. He previously served as Stallings Distinguished Professor of Dentistry and Director of Graduate Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics (ACP), a former ACP President and received the ACP’s 2004 Clinician/Researcher Award. He also was named the recipient of the 2009 International Association for Dental Research Distinguished Scientist Award for Prosthodontics and Implantology.
Dr. Cooper has one of the strongest international reputations for innovation, perspective, and patient-oriented research and clinical care in the world. He has led an innovative team in translational research evaluating the role of a variety of pro- and anti-inflammatory bio-markers as well as innovative medical device designs to create research-oriented clinical solutions for relevant patient care.
Dr. Oliver Pin-Harry, DDS, MS, Cert. Prostho, FRCD(C) received his DDS in 1997 from l’Université de Montpellier, France. After nine years of private general practice in Ontario, he returned to graduate school for specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA, earning a Certificate and Master of Science Degree in Prosthodontics in 2011. Dr. Pin-Harry received numerous awards and accolades while in the US including the Research Fellowship Award from the American College of Prosthodontists.
He is the owner of Burlington Prosthodontics, a referral-based practice, dedicated to Dental Implants, Esthetic and Reconstructive Dentistry. The facility, located in Burlington, Ontario, is also home to the Burlington Prosthodontics Study Club, with a mission to nurture excellence in continuing dental education.
Dr. Pin-Harry is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a Diplomat of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He is an appointed examiner in Prosthodontics for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the department of Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Pin-Harry lectures regularly at scientific dental meetings and study clubs in Canada, the USA and internationally.
